Pigeon Species

Argentina is home to a wide variety of pigeon species. However, among the largest ones are the Picazuro Pigeon (Patagioenas picazuro) and the Spotted Pigeon (Patagioenas maculosa) (both commonly known as the famous pigeon). These birds have become a real challenge for hunters who enjoy simulating a duck shoot.
La paloma manchada is a medium-sized bird, with an average length of about 30 centimeters. It has generally grayish plumage on its upper body, with a lighter color on the underside. One distinctive feature of this species is the white spots or markings on its wings, which contrast with its gray plumage. These spots become more noticeable during flight and add a distinctive pattern to its appearance.
The Picazuro Pigeon is a medium-sized pigeon, with an average length of about 30 centimeters. It has generally grayish plumage on its upper body, with a lighter tone on the underside. Its head and neck are a darker grayish color, and it often exhibits a metallic sheen in its feathers when exposed to proper lighting.

Pigeon Season

The Pigeon hunting season in Argentina extends from May to August. During these months, you will have the opportunity to combine other bird species such as doves, partridges, and forest partridges.

Additionally, you can also combine pigeon hunting with some big game species like deer, buffalo, and other animals.
