Hunters are positioned inside blinds located near feeding areas and cultivated fields surrounded by woodland. Fixed and motion decoys are arranged according to the wind, sunlight, and expected direction of the approaching birds.
As the pigeons begin to respond, they may circle the area, change direction, or descend toward the decoys. The hunter must remain concealed, follow the guide’s instructions, and be ready when the birds commit to the setup.
The result is a more controlled and deliberate shooting experience, featuring close opportunities, challenging angles, and the excitement of watching large pigeons respond directly to the decoys.

Before each session, our team evaluates bird movements, feeding activity, wind direction, sunlight, and the surrounding woodland. The blind and decoy spread are then positioned to create the most natural and effective approach for the birds.

An Experience Tailored to You Every hunting program is fully customizable according to your group’s preferences, desired species, flight schedule, and any additional activities you would like to include during your stay. Guests may choose a dedicated pigeon hunting program with morning and afternoon sessions or combine pigeons with ducks, doves, common perdiz, forest perdiz, or big game—all while staying at La Paloma Lodge.
Our team will review the available domestic flights and recommend the most convenient travel option for your arrival and departure dates. Private ground transportation and direct charter flights may also be arranged.
THE ITINERARY
DAY 1
Arrival in Argentina and Transfer to the Lodge
Personalized reception at Ezeiza International Airport. Depending on your international arrival time, you may continue to Santa Rosa that same day or spend one night in Buenos Aires before traveling to La Pampa. Upon arrival in Santa Rosa, you will be transferred by private vehicle to La Paloma Lodge, located approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from the airport. Your first evening will include a gourmet welcome dinner, premium beverages, and a complete briefing on your hunting program.
DAY 2 - 7
Pigeon Hunting Days
Each hunting day begins with a complete breakfast before departing for one of our carefully selected pigeon hunting areas. Upon arrival, the guide will explain the blind arrangement, safe shooting zones, expected flight direction, and the way the birds are responding to the decoy spread. A dedicated field assistant will remain available throughout the session to provide ammunition, refreshments, bird identification, and assistance counting the pigeons taken. After the morning hunt, guests may return to the lodge for a chef-prepared lunch and time to relax or enjoy a traditional Argentine barbecue served in the field. The afternoon may include another pigeon session at a different location or a customized combination of doves, ducks, common perdiz, or forest perdiz. Every evening concludes with gourmet cuisine, premium beverages, and stories shared by the fire.
DAY 8
Final Hunt and Departure
Enjoy breakfast followed by a final morning pigeon hunt. After the hunt, private transportation will be provided to Santa Rosa Airport, Ezeiza International Airport, or your selected hotel in Buenos Aires according to your departure itinerary.

Every program is planned according to the best available areas and authorized hunting dates for the selected season.

For bird hunting, we have new shotguns from the Benelli and Beretta brands, available in both 12 and 20 gauge. In addition to being able to attach stock extenders and customize them to your fit, we also have shotguns for left-handed shooters.
In the Benelli brand, we offer the M2 and M1 models.
In the Beretta brand, we have the A400 Xplor Kick Off model (this system reduces recoil by 70% when firing the shotgun).

Rancho Salvaje Safari manages the required hunting licenses and provincial permits for every guest. Before your arrival, our team will request the necessary personal information and documentation to ensure that everything is prepared for the beginning of your hunting program. We also provide guidance throughout the process of temporarily importing your personal shotgun into Argentina or arranging the rental of one of our lodge firearms.
